The Collaborative Doula Network is looking for an organized, thoughtful human to join our Board of Directors as Secretary.

You’ll help build the governance backbone of a growing Ontario non-profit by supporting Board meetings, minutes, corporate records, policies and accountability.

You might come from administration, governance, legal services, executive support, project management or the non-profit world. Or you might simply have the skills we’re looking for and a desire to put them somewhere meaningful.

You do not need to be a doula, or member of The Collaborative Doula Collective. We intentionally welcome professionals and community members from outside the doula profession.

What matters is integrity, organization, sound judgement, professionalism and genuine care for the communities we’re building this organization to support.

Behind every free program, community initiative and ambitious idea is something considerably less glamorous but incredibly important: responsible financial stewardship.

The Collaborative Doula Network is seeking a Treasurer for our Board of Directors.

We’re looking for someone who can help our Board understand and oversee budgets, financial statements, grants, donations, controls and financial risk.

Accounting, finance, banking, bookkeeping, audit or non-profit financial experience would be especially valuable.

No doula experience required. No Collective membership required.

We’re deliberately building a multidisciplinary Board and want financial expertise sitting beside community, healthcare, research and social-service perspectives.

If numbers are your language and community impact matters to you, there may be a chair at this table with your name on it.

What could our community access if cost wasn’t always the barrier?

That’s a question we want to keep asking.

The Collaborative Doula Network is seeking an Officer of Grants, Fundraising & Sponsorship to join our Board of Directors and help build the funding relationships and strategies that turn good ideas into accessible, sustainable community programs.

In this role, you’ll help identify grant and funding opportunities, support applications and reporting, develop fundraising and sponsorship strategies, build relationships with donors, businesses, foundations and community partners, and help us think creatively about how we diversify and grow our funding.

You’ll work alongside the Executive Board, Treasurer and other Directors to connect funding opportunities with the Network’s priorities, from community education and support programs to new initiatives designed to reduce barriers to care.

We’re looking for someone with experience or knowledge in areas such as grant writing, fundraising, philanthropy, sponsorship, donor relations, community investment, business development or non-profit development.

You do not need to be a doula or member of The Collaborative Doula Collective. Previous Board experience is an asset, but it isn’t required.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who understands that good fundraising isn’t simply about raising dollars. It’s about building relationships between people who want to make a difference and work capable of making one.

And you will never be expected to represent an entire community or carry responsibility for the organization’s equity work alone.

We want someone who will help us build accessibility and equity into the architecture of the Network from the beginning.

Researchers, academics, evaluators, public-health professionals, healthcare researchers, policy professionals, data people and relentlessly curious humans, we’re looking in your direction.

No doula experience or Collective membership required.

You’ll help us research emerging needs and gaps across the full spectrum of life, explore evidence and promising practices, identify opportunities for new programs, education, resources and partnerships, and help evaluate the impact of what we create.

We want someone who will help us keep asking:

What do people need? What are we missing? What does the evidence tell us? And what could we do differently?

Because we don’t want to build programs around assumptions.

Role Purpose

The Officer of Community Wellness, Life Transitions & Family Supports brings a broad health, social-service, community, or lived-experience perspective to the Board and helps ensure the Network’s work reflects the needs of individuals and families across the full life spectrum.

This role considers support beyond pregnancy and birth, including reproductive health, parenting and family transitions, mental health, disability, loss and grief, caregiving, menopause and aging, serious illness, end-of-life, death and bereavement.

Key Responsibilities

* Bring a full-life-spectrum and community wellness perspective to Board discussions.

* Help identify gaps in healthcare, social services and community support.

* Advise on programs that respond to the needs of individuals, families and caregivers.

* Identify opportunities for partnerships with healthcare, social-service and community organizations.

* Support trauma-informed, accessible, culturally responsive and person-centred approaches.

* Contribute professional, community or lived expertise to strategic planning and decision-making.

* Participate in Board meetings, committees and Network initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for two Youth Advisory Officers to join The Collaborative Doula Network.

Young people shouldn’t have to wait until they’re adults to have a voice in the programs, education and conversations that affect them.

The Collaborative Doula Network is building a Youth Advisory Council made up of young people ages 14–18 who want to share their perspectives, explore issues that matter to youth and help shape real programs, resources and community projects.

We’re recruiting for three Youth Advisory Officer positions:

Wellness & Life Transitions
Mental health, grief and loss, family changes, relationships, identity, disability and neurodivergence, body image, caregiving, belonging and the many transitions young people experience.

Education & Advocacy
Sexual and reproductive health, consent, healthy relationships, mental-health education, navigating healthcare, self-advocacy, youth rights and the things young people wish they were learning more about.

Community & Engagement
Youth events, outreach, social media, volunteering, community connections, accessibility, belonging and finding better ways to involve young people in their communities.

What will you actually do?

Youth Advisory Officers will work together to identify issues affecting young people, brainstorm programs and resources, develop youth-led projects, participate in subcommittees and consultations, connect with community professionals and bring ideas and recommendations directly to the Network’s Board of Directors.

Other youth may also be invited to join Council projects, meetings or subcommittees, giving Youth Advisory Officers opportunities to hear from and work alongside young people beyond the Council.

The Council is supported by a Founding Board Member, who attends meetings and provides mentorship, guidance and connections to other Board members, professionals and community organizations. You’ll have support while still having space to lead, ask questions and explore your own ideas.

Who are we looking for?

You do not need Board experience. You don’t need a résumé full of accomplishments. You don’t need to know how a non-profit works, and you definitely don’t need to have all the answers.

We’re looking for young people who are curious, respectful, willing to participate and interested in making a difference in their community.

You can be outspoken or quiet. A natural leader or someone still discovering their voice. What matters is that you're willing to bring your perspective, listen to others and help us think differently.
