What you’ll gain

  • A comprehensive understanding of newborn feeding behaviour and hunger cues.

  • Practical tools for latching, positioning, supply building, and pumping basics.

  • Strategies for overcoming common nursing challenges — oversupply, plugged ducts, nipple pain, latch issues, etc.

  • Confidence to make feeding decisions that honour your body, your baby, and your lifestyle.

  • Resource materials to refer back to when needed.

  • Ongoing support and community from the Collective — because feeding is not always linear, and having backup helps.

Some of the topics covered:

  • Newborn hunger cues and feeding behaviour: how babies communicate, what’s typical, and how to support their needs.

  • Latch techniques and positioning: finding comfortable, effective breastfeeding posture.

  • Supply and pumping basics: how milk supply works, how to support it, how to pump and store milk if needed.

  • Troubleshooting common issues: oversupply, clogged ducts, nipple pain, thrush — what causes them, and how to respond.

  • Hands-on support (in-person classes): practical demo, guidance, and partner support.

  • Emotional, body-centered care: honouring the demanding physical and emotional work of nursing, self-care strategies, and building confidence.
